Pear Honey Crunch Recipe

buy Gourmet Honey Now
Fresh Bartlett pears
juice of one lemon
one half teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon cinnamon
one tablespoon flour
two tablespoons honey
one third cup butter
half cup brown sugar, firmly packed
three fourths cup sifted flour
one fourth teaspoon baking soda
one fourth teaspoon salt
three fourths cup cooking oats

Preheat oven to 350°

Core and slice pears. Arrange in an 8″ should square pan. Sprinkle with lemon juice, combine spices, one tablespoon flour and sprinkle over pears. Drizzle with honey. Beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Sift Flour with soda and salt. Add flour and mixture and oats to butter mixture. With hands makes until well combined. Cover pears evenly with oatmeal mixture press lightly with hands.

Bake about 25 minutes at 350° or until lightly browned.
Serve warm with ice cream or heavy cream. Makes six to eight servings.

    I’ve tried this one, works well with any of your favorite pears, bosc winter pear is my favorite. Ms Fussell has a winner here! I couldn’t help drizzling a little honey over this dish as I went to serve it. Warm of course.
